Giant Redwood Trees of California (c. 1874) is yet another awe-inspiring landscape painting of the American West by Albert Bierstadt. The true size of the scene isn’t realized until you notice the three individuals present in this piece. They are depicted near the stream with a small camp fire in the clearing.
